Complete engineering, assembly, and programming of a standalone electronic controller for FOX Live Valve shock absorbers. This system provides a fully open architecture for in-depth suspension tuning while maintaining seamless integration with the factory vehicle modules.
Project Highlights:
- Fully Open Tuning Model: Individual base stiffness adjustment for each shock absorber via dedicated PC software.
- Dynamic 3D Mapping: Implemented real-time correction tables. The algorithm pulls data directly from the CAN bus to dynamically adjust damping based on acceleration, braking, cornering, and varying G-forces.
- Seamless OEM Integration: Suspension control profiles are switched directly from the steering wheel, functioning perfectly alongside the factory Terrain Modes.
- Hardware-Level Diagnostics: Built-in driver diagnostics for each solenoid. In the event of an open circuit, short to ground, or short to battery, the controller generates a specific DTC in the tuning software while triggering a generic system fault message on the factory dashboard.
- Telemetry & Expandability: The custom PCB is fully prepped with power and signal traces for optional ride height sensors. A mathematical model to calculate shock oil temperature is also integrated purely for data logging and monitoring purposes.
